According to Zillow’s 2018 Annual Consumer Report, 22% of home sellers make improvements in the kitchen prior to selling. Done right, it can be a great investment!
This homeowner called me because she was ready to sell, but she was NOT ready to leave any money on the table, and was seeking guidance on improvements she could make to maximize her sale price. Check out this kitchen refresh that brought this home into the 21st century!
The home’s original 1955 kitchen cabinets were still going strong, but they were outdated and in dire need of a refresh. The first thing the homeowner did was to paint the cabinets white and change out the hardware. She also installed a modern white/ gray ceramic tile on the floor. Oh, and of course, that wallpaper had to go!
Other improvements we recommended were new quartz counter tops and a white subway tiled backsplash with gray grout. We also connected our client with vendors who could get the work done in the time frame she needed to be on the market.
We also added a little staging (a small island and some accessories) to give the kitchen some interest, and to help buyers visualize how the space could be used.
